My name is Attracta and the founder of earthly passion. Yes, I know my name is unusual – very Irish and not many of us around.
Why did I start earthly passion? Well, in my twenties I had an interest in eco issues, but I never thought I could do anything that could make a difference. I wanted to live more environmentally friendly, but like a lot of people I didn’t know where to start.
But having children changes all that. You want to raise happy, healthy kids. For me it meant I wanted to make a difference for them and provide them with a safe environment to grow and learn. As time went on it became even more important when my allergies flared up and my husband Richard (Rich) had a few health issues.
So changes were afoot… but how hard was it. Many products are advertised All Natural, but when you really read the fine print many of the “natural” products are loaded with a huge number of chemicals – not good for us and not good for the environment. The challenge was on to find the right foods to eat and products to use. Labelling was so deceiving. Although I believe in organic, it was often difficult to locate and often expensive (something you have to consider when you have a growing family). And I knew this beautiful country of Australia, that I now call home, could provide us with so much better.
Hence, earthly passion was born. I knew if I couldn’t find healthy, eco-friendly products, neither can many people. So I looked into getting some products. We are not just a shop, but a place to learn – a place where we can learn together. I’m definitely not an expert, but I’m passionate to learn about making this beautiful world a better place to live for all.
